As
the professional vocal performance arm of the ministries of Augustana
Lutheran Church in Denver Colorado, AVE's concert appearances include
performances at the Art Institute of Chicago, The Denver Art Museum,
St. Olaf College, Coor's Field for the Colorado Rockies Baseball
Club, The national broadcast of the PBS Lehrer NewsHour, The National
Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Winter Park
Resort, and on concert series from the Western United States to
England.
AVE's repertoire represents over a thousand years of the legacy
of western music from Gregorian Chant to the works of contemporary
art music composers and "a cappella" jazz charts.
"AVE
provides sparkling entree to moments assumed to be lost in the past.
Whether sacred or secular, their music--informed by their tangible
dedication to it--transports listeners to lives and beliefs beyond
their own. The lighter repertoire is engaging, accessible and, most
importantly fun for them as well as their audience. Giving voice
to our visions, our foibles, our ideals, AVE has the world at its
feet. Any language, any era, any mood. AVE is a kaleidoscope of
musical possibility."
