Carol Fennell

Carol Fennell's work is inspired by visual stories that she captures, re-creates, and releases into the world. She loves the role of imagination, memory and humor in art. Each piece begins as an idea drawn onto the surface and comes alive as layers of paint, paste, paper and clay are added or scraped away, and texture and dimension appear. "I am inspired by nature and strive not to imitate but to bring my whimsical spirit into the piece. My current pieces include images of birds blooming from plants to represent the freedom of possibility and transience of life along with the importance of being grounded.”

She received her BS in Fine Art and Master of Fine Art in painting in 1992 and has been creating and showing ever since. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions and she has shown in galleries for over twenty years including Sedona, Santa Fe, Vail, Breckenridge, Omaha, Dallas, and Denver. She has been fortunate to have over one hundred installations in public spaces including hospitals, health care offices, law firms airport, veterinary facilities and private collections such as Melissa and Doug’s (toys) home.

Fennell resides in Colorado with her two boys, husband and a home full of art. When she is not in the studio, she enjoys hiking, traveling and writing historic fiction novels.
