An introduction course to mariachi fundamentals with the Colorado Youth Mariachi Program. This is a beginner instrumental class intended for youth ages 7-18. Fully bilingual and beginner friendly, no experience necessarily.
Mariachi Fundamentals Program Details:
16-week course with weekly one-hour small group lessons.
Winter/spring course schedule (all sessions are held from 9AM-10AM on Saturdays):

$200 tuition includes: group lessons, instrument rental for the duration of the course, and all necessary supplies.

Mariachi Fundamentals Course Information

The class explores music fundamentals such as notation, rhythm reading, traditional mariachi technique and of course, the opportunity for your child to learn how to play one of the core mariachi instruments.

The class opens up the world of mariachi to your child by offering all traditional instruments heard in a mariachi ensemble. This includes: violin, guitarrón, vihuelas, guitar, and trumpet.

A mariachi instrument will be provided for the duration of the 16-week course. Additionally, any necessary sheet music and instrument maintenance supplies will be provided as needed.

Augustana Arts is a 501c3 nonprofit that presents accessible music programs to adults and children around Denver. Since the late 90’s, our Music Encounters program has brought instrument lessons into schools and community sites around Denver. Each year, our teachers log hundreds of hours in the classroom with classes focused on violin, ukulele or guitar.
