Daring Innovation with Stratus Chamber Orchestra

  • King Center on MSU Campus 855 Lawrence Way Denver, CO, 80204 United States (map)

Artists often look to the future in their art, obsessed with progress and inspired by technological advancements. In a world of AI, how will music change?

Hear the future of music and create your own during the premiere of an audience-interactive piece, DarkRace for Orchestra, Electric Violin, and AI by Gregory Walker alongside works by other composers who pushed boundaries during their lifetimes:

  • Concerto Grosso from L'estro Armonico, op. 3 by Antonin Vivaldi (10 minutes)

  • Creation du Monde by Darius Milhaud (20 minutes)

  • Symphonic Poem No. 5 ‘Prometheus’ S. 99 by Franz Liszt (12 minutes)

  • DarkRace for Orchestra, Electric Violin, and AI by Gregory Walker (15 minutes)

This concert celebrates how music has always been about looking forward, not just back.

Concert vibe: futuristic, cutting-edge, electrifying, thought-provoking.

Gregory Walker is an American composer, violinist, and guitarist. He was the recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Charles Ives Fellowship in 2000 and has performed with major orchestras around the world. Walker currently serves as a professor at the University of Colorado Denver.

We want all audience members to feel welcome and comfortable, whether this is your first orchestra concert or your 50th. If you have any questions about what to expect, read our Concert FAQ here.
