Children and families can celebrate Día de los Muertos with Augustana Arts and Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA) — an unforgettable day where music, art, and tradition will light up the Aurora Cultural Arts District.
Young listeners and their families can enjoy a live performance as Mariachi las Dahlias guides audiences through the heart of the holiday, blending vibrant sounds with rich storytelling that honors tradition. This hour-long, up-close concert will bring the day alive for listeners young and old.
Down the street at DAVA, dive into hands-on art projects where kids and adults will craft sugar skulls, flower crowns, and create keepsakes for the community altar. Attendees can also enjoy a community scavenger hunt, food trucks, and more.
Come to celebrate, reflect, remember, and embrace the vibrant spirit of a tradition that connects us all.
While the activities at DAVA are open to the public and don’t require reservation ahead of time, we strongly suggest you register for the concert before the event.
